Worm drives

Category:Worm drives

Worm drives systerm (also called Slewing Drives) is a new kind of rotary product  which consists of a slewing ring, base plate and worm. As the core component uses slewing ring, so it can bear axial force, radial force and tilting moment at the same time.

Due to its compactness, high rigidity and other mentioned advantages, a worm drive system is used in varying equipment such as mobile assembly platforms, hydraulic loading cranes on haulage vehicles, small marine cranes, extendable rotating ladders, in wheel units of large portal transporters of marine containers

The slew drive can be with worm gear, spur gear, bevel gear. And also for the inside slewing ring, it can be single-row ball slewing ring, and also can be double-row ball slewing ring. The one with double-row can take much more load. It can be chosen depended on your application.

This device is a rotary deceleration drive. It is through the motor (electric, hydraulic) drives worm and the worm driven by the slewing ring(worm). Thereby make an operation of the workpiece
The main advantages of a Evon worm drive system are:
continuous or cyclical rotation of the connected superstructure by 360º,
connection of a driving motor from the left or right side,
simple installation and maintenance,
reliable operation with low maintenance requirements,
easy and fluent method of starting and stopping
during installation, it is not necessary to adjust the gearing clearance; this is already set by the producer.
